TRAINING DESCRIPTION
This is a regional or school division based two days in-service training for the NON-IT directors, chiefs, superintendents, and principals to introduce the competency standards and methodology in managing ICT4E projects.
It is designed to build awareness on best practice guidance, and to realize a standard-based project management methodology to guide the management of the initiation, planning, execution, evaluation and closure phases of the ICT4E projects.
The training topics discuss and demonstrate the use of best practice references in order to properly define the ICT project decision domains, management processes, analytical tools, developmental tasks and technology, performance metrics, and re-usable templates that enable the organized, transparent and accountable delivery of ICT4E projects in the schools region and division.
The training workshop provides a walk-through demonstration on what to manage to complete the project life cycle of an ICT4E solutions development initiative. It orients the educational administrators of the required leadership imperatives, ICT decision interrogatives, capability maturity models, and technology reference models to insure the proper design, construction, testing, integration, release, and continual improvement of an ICT based solution for teaching, learning, and school management.
TRAINING OBJECTIVES
At the end of the two days in-service training the participants must be able to explain:
1. The basic competency requirements to successfully manage the ICT4E projects
2. The essential knowledge and skills domains of project management based on best practice standards
3. The value proposition of being standard-based, process oriented, and metrics-driven in project management.
4. The key management phases on justifying, planning, building, testing, integrating, releasing, and sustaining.
5. The key information elements of formulating the project business case, proposal, plan, scope, metrics, and budget.
6. The key management tools to analyze requirements, efforts, time, cost, risk, and deliverables
7. The key management instrument to handle incidents, problems, change, status, communication, and procurement
8. The technology reference standards to influence the design of ICT based solution in education.
And the participants must be able to do the following:
1. Create the content outline of an ICT4E project management methodology guide for the region or division
2. Evaluate the validity of the submitted project business case, proposal, work plan and deliverable acceptance report.
3. Define the task requirements and the responsibility matrix of an ICT4E project
4. Validate the project work schedule, cost estimation, and risk analysis
5. Review the deliverable acceptance metrics and solution readiness assessment tool
6. Define the decision checkpoints in the ICT solution development life-cycle.
7. Review appropriate re-usable analytical tools, software and templates of a standard-based project documentation.
8. Analyze solution reference models to align with the ICT4E strategic intent and requirements.

- Ventilated venue to accommodate 10 tables to sit 5 participants each
